ABOUT THE DMR METHOD

“I’m a neurosurgeon who specializes in complicated brain and spine surgery. Although I am a surgeon my first course of action with every patient is to consider all non- surgical treatments when appropriate. For many spinal conditions I’ve found that the DMR Method produces consistent results and has an amazing ability to help patients avoid surgery. Even when a patient has had previously had spinal surgery, the DMR Method can be valuable in helping that person stabilize their spine and prevent a recurrence of symptoms and additional surgery. I also appreciate how they’ve built specific procedures into the DMR Method to help identify when a surgery consult might be helpful. Their team approach, with chiropractors and physical therapists working with other medical specialists to get a person well, is commendable. When I’ve worked with patients they’ve referred to me, I’m always impressed with how educated and motivated they are. This book will strengthen a patient’s knowledge and help them understand their condition, the best treatment options, what they can do on their own, how to avoid surgery, and when it’s time to consider surgery. It’s a testament to the effectiveness of the DMR Method that most patients I refer for treat- ment do not need to return for surgery. This book is the next step in the development of the innovative DMR Method.”

“As a practicing orthopaedic surgeon for over 20 years, I am always looking for ways to improve and expedite my patients’ recovery. Whenever possible, conservative treatment options are explored to hopefully prevent the need for surgery. Over the last several years I have worked with the chiropractors and physical therapists that developed the DMR method. I have found this to be a well-conceived and struc- tured systematic approach to the evaluation and treatment of many conditions and especially useful in the treatment of several spine disorders. The greatest benefit of the DMR method is that patients receive a personalized treatment program that is designed specifically for them and for their problem. They are thoroughly involved in the treatment plan and receive supervised care. The DMR Method book is an excellent resource for patients to help guide them through nonoperative management of their specific issue and also discusses when surgery should be considered for their condition. Many patients have benefited from the DMR approach and method and have found this to be an extremely valuable program.”

“Dr. Pete L’Allier first introduced me to the DMR method 8 years ago. I was impressed with this progressive unique spine treatment program which utilized the combined talents of chiropractors and physical therapists. Since then, we have collaborated on many clinical case studies using MRI to evaluate pre and post DMR treatment results. I continue to be enthusiastically impressed with the successful clinical outcomes experienced by patients participating in his programs.

Congratulations on your hard work, perseverance and teamwork in creating the DMR method.”

– William J. Mullin, MD Spine Radiologist

“As an internal medicine physician with substantial back pain from a herniated lumbar disc, I can attest to the effectiveness of the DMR approach. I believe strongly in nonsurgical approaches to back pain so naturally tried standard physical therapy alone without success for over half a year. The pain originating in my back and shooting down my leg had become unrelenting so a colleague suggested I try the DMR program. After completing this program I have required only minimal, peri- odic adjustment to remain pain free and have regained my active lifestyle. I would encourage anyone experiencing back pain to complete the DMR program.”

“I work with many patients who have serious spinal issues. Many times I work as a link between non-surgical care providers and surgeons. I always try to do everything possible to keep patients on the non-surgical side of care, which can be tricky some- times because the spine is very complex. To add to the complexity, lifestyle factors often have a dramatic impact on the health of the spine and how that affects the ability of the patient to recover. For example, a person who smokes, drives a freight truck for a living, and spends their weekends up north working on their cabin has a completely different recovery potential than a person who works at a desk, goes to the health club three to four times per week, and spends their weekends running their kids to various sports activities. That’s what I love about the DMR Method; in addition to identifying the root cause of a patient’s condition and providing a well researched intelligent treatment plan, it also identifies and addresses the lifestyle factors that could have an impact on short-term and long-term recovery. The DMR Method book has all the self-care, lifestyle, and wellness resources organized in a user-friendly way that will make it easy for a patient to learn what to do and how to do it on their own. What a great resource for patients!”
